A sci-fi spaceship; the aft hull has indeed the same saucer shape as an UFO (well, depending on how you imagine the UFOs to be like ).

Life is like beautiful lyrics, only it is pretty messed up.

The trick is to hide the seams the best you can. I usually remove the original flaps/tabs first. Then I paint the edge of the paper with watercolours of roughly the same color as is the surface near the edge (black, reddish brown and bluish gray in this model's case).
Finally, I glue the parts together either just edge to edge - in case of small parts (the trooper is glued just like that), or with some stripes of paper from the underside (often painted the same color as the edge, or black). Dense liquid glue is my preferred choice for this.
If it's needed, you can apply some extra paint afterward.

It's slow to do it like this, mostly because of painting, but model with coloured edges looks much better like if it had white patches all around. Unless you do a white model of course

Nicely done dude, Just finished about 60% of the instructions for the front (specifically the cockpit and landing ramp which constitutes the most technically difficult section and thus, hardest to document).

Got my PhD offer which I've been working my ass off for so I'm starting in October. \o/ This has been the reason why everything is going so slow.

My past estimates of when I'd get the instructions done have been fairly inaccurate so I'm simply going to say 'soon'.

Thanks They will come in handy, as I plan to build in a tiny cockpit, but I need to be absolutely sure how parts connect together to avoid any screwups.

Congrats! I still need to take a pair of exams and finish one project, so I haven't done any gluing for some time. But my fingers are already itching, I'll start right after I'm finished with them.
